A Wedding That Was Meant to Be

Meant to be. These words fit Collin and Emily’s relationship perfectly. Collin’s mom introduced them (she had secretly been ready for them to get married before they met!) Collin was looking for a roommate at the time and Emily was looking for a place to live. They were roommates for a year and became best friends. After their lease ended and they both moved out they decided to start dating!  Collin told his mom that he wanted to propose to Emily, and that he had a specific day in mind to propose in Sept. 2021.  She was thrilled! Unfortunately, his mom passed away the very  week he had planned to propose.  To honor his mother, knowing how excited she was about the proposal, Collin proposed on the same day he’d told his mom about, while all their family was gathered together. He created a semi-circle of flowers from his mom’s service to have Emily stand in while he proposed to her so that his mom could be there too. Emily and Collin planned a beautiful wedding that took place on a gorgeous February day. There were so many personal details woven through the day. A touching memorial was set on a piano in the venue, which included a bunch of sunflowers, his mom’s favorite flowers. Emily’s uncle officiated their ceremony. Pictures from Emily and Collin’s travels were placed around the cocktail hour, so that their guests could share in their journeys. The sweetest vintage cake toppers decorated their dessert table. And through all these details, the main focus of the wedding was the pure joy shining from the newlyweds and all of their nearest and dearest. Congratulations to Emily and Collin on a beautiful day that was truly meant to be.
