Wedding of Two Cultures

Ashwini and Joey’s wedding was the perfect picture of two cultures coming together! Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Granby provided a beautiful getaway and backdrop to Ashwini and Joey’s wedding weekend. Friday was the rehearsal dinner and Sangeet. A traditional Indian wedding celebration held before the wedding day and it involves lots of food, dancing and a talent show! Ashwini and Joey provided a henna artist and offered small hand designs to the guests, and Devils Thumb Ranch provided a buffet of favorite Indian dishes. DJ Prashant emceed a fun talent show and dance party! Wedding day started early Saturday morning with hair and makeup with a view for the ladies. Ashwini and Joey had their first look and took some pictures with their pup Wellington who not only attended the wedding, but participated in the ceremony wearing a tuxedo! DJ Prashant led the guests in a Baraat, a pre-ceremony parade of dancing leading up to the ceremony site. Ashwini met Joey at the altar and the two participated in a traditional Catholic ceremony that ended with the two becoming husband and wife! Wellington signed their marriage license as a witness, and the two joined cocktail hour with the biggest smiles! After getting introduced into their ceremony, Ashwini and Joey dazzled their guests with a choreographed first dance before welcoming everyone to Colorado! Devil’s Thumb Ranch served a 3-course meal while guests chatted and marveled at the colorful flowers and warm candlelight. After some heartfelt toasts and sweet parent dances, DJ Prashant took over and hosted a packed dance floor for the last few hours of the night! At the end of the night, the couple led the charge to the after party where karaoke and more fun were waiting!
