3 Quick Styling Tips for The Groom

We all know that wedding planning can be a lot of work, especially when you don't have a wedding planner. Between the guest list, menu, color schemes and the amount of money you spend, a lot of pressure is on the bride and groom when making all these decisions. Of course, the bride is also thinking about her dress, hair and shoes. But, as the groom, are you thinking about how you will look at the wedding? Are you planning ahead or just planning to wing it the day of? Doing a little extra planning around your look to ensure you look confident and put together next to your fiancé is very important. We’ve put together 3 quick tips on how you can prep to look your best for the wedding.

Style your hair

For your wedding, it’s best to stick with a style that’s similar to how you normally wear your hair. However, if you want a more polished and formal look, try out a new way of styling it. If you use products that are fragrance free you won’t have to worry about any reactions or rashes the day of your wedding. If you have a little extra time, you can ask your barber tips on how to style it that compliment your face shape and facial hair best. This way, you will have a look that has been freshened up but isn’t too far off from what you normally do. So you will look like you- just better!

Shave and Moisturize

Shaving and moisturizing with great products is all you need to achieve a clean and smooth look. Plus, a soft face and neat facial hair immediately looks like you’ve put in a ton of effort, when really, you don’t need to! This can be super simple. Wash your face and use a hydrating moisturizer to achieve a glowy, youthful face. Look for products with soothing and moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and aloe. Then, shave your face with a sharp razor and a hydrating shave cream to avoid nicks and scarring. Lather your face up with the cream, make a pass at the skin going with the grain and if you want a close shave, lather again and make a second pass against the grain.

Brows, Nail and Teeth

Smaller details like this are things that a groom needs to pay attention to. Because you likely won’t be hitting the aisle in a gown, the guests, your photographer, and bride will notice the little details like your brows, nails and teeth. Plus, these are all quick fixes that make a huge difference that you can handle the day of your wedding. Keep it simple when it comes to touching up your eyebrows, they are a focal point of every face. All of you must do is trim them down with small scissors so they look tamed and pluck any stray hairs that are in between or far underneath the brows. You don’t have to get a full-blown manicure at a salon, but that isn’t a bad idea. To treat yourself to a DIY mani, make sure your nails are clean, trim or file them down so they are the same length, and put some lotion on so your hands look and feel soft. Finally, if you want to have a bright smile in all of your photos, simply head to the grocery store and pick up whitening strips. This is a quick and effective option to ensuring you have a bright, white smile for your wedding day.

As a groom, how you look for your wedding is never the top priority when it comes to planning. However, doing a few (simple!) things before you hit the aisle can make a huge difference in how you look and how confident you feel. Plus, your fiancé will notice and appreciate the thought you put into wanting to look your best for the wedding.
